The role:

As the role of the Radiology Nurse evolves alongside advances in minimally invasive procedures, we’re expanding our team to keep pace with growth. You’ll play a pivotal part in providing top-tier patient care and supporting a variety of diagnostic and interventional services.

  • Location: Primarily based at Ashford Hospital, with some travel required to Morphett Vale and Noarlunga

  • Responsibilities Include:

    • Assisting Radiologists with procedures like deep organ biopsies, lumbar punctures, PICC insertions, drainages, and pain management injections.

    • Offering expert care and guidance for patients before, during, and after procedures, including medication management.

    • Working alongside medical imaging staff to streamline workflow and elevate the patient experience.

    • Engaging with hospital departments and allied health professionals.

    • Managing IV cannulation, PICC/Port device access, and more.

    • Coordinating complex patient bookings and liaising with referrers for interventional procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in nursing, ideally in an acute or theatre/recovery setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a knack for managing time effectively and working within a team.

  • A willingness to adapt to the dynamic needs of a fast-paced environment.

  • Cannulation skills are highly regarded, as is prior radiology experience, though full training will be provided to the right candidate.

  • Exceptional communication skills – you’ll need to work closely with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
